The Transgender Swimmer
"I want to make the water a better place for us all"
Eden is a Transgender woman, swimmer and LGBTQIA Rights advocate based in London. She spends her time dipping in and out of pools, ponds and lakes whenever she can.
Eden leant't to swim from a young age, having lessons at a local pool with her Grandfather and quickly found confidence in and around the water.
In 2017 she started swimming for recreation and fitness in a heated lido before trading it for a local river, finding comfort in the ever changing flow and scenery around the waters edge.
In March 2020 for International Women's Day Eden launched her instagram @TheTransgenderSwimmer as a way to share her story and love for the water with others.
In September 2020 Eden became the first openly transgender woman to complete a marathon distance swim.
In November 2020 Eden created an award winning self titled short documentary with 2B13 Productions
In December 2020 she started hosting a LGBTQIA swimming group (@FreestyleFridaysLondon) that meets weekly.
Since then Eden has used her story as a voice for good, encouraging and helping brands to be more inclusive and ensure swimming is accessible for those within the LGBTQIA community.
